What Ecommerce & Retail teams get from a review

Six findings we look for in ecommerce & retail.

Each card names a pattern and a change your team can evaluate.

Review the applicable scope and recheck after every release.

From screen to change to evaluate

One finding, three steps for your team.

Step 1 · Observed

The screen, marked

The decision point with screenshot, date and market.

A recurring order is selected by default.

Step 2 · Change to evaluate

A change to evaluate

What should move, and why. Your team decides how.

Let the customer choose one-off or recurring.

Step 3 · Recheck

After your release

The same screen, checked again and saved with the finding.

Compare the update after every release.

Check it yourself

Four checks for your retail flows.

Practical notes to use with your own team. None of this is needed before a walkthrough.

Separate one-off and recurring orders

Capture which option is selected, its price and how the commitment is explained. A recurring order needs different evidence from a single purchase.

Change the option, then look again

Note what happens when the customer switches the option or the quantity. A default selection is a design choice to record, not a conclusion on its own.

Trace charges wherever prices appear

Check the product page, the cart and the payment step. Keep mandatory fees, optional extras and payment surcharges apart: they raise different questions.

Mark the edge of the review

Public pages show choices and cart states, not fulfilment, customer-specific charges or later messages. Stop before a real purchase and list what is still open.
